John 14:1-6 by Steve Gregg - The Way, the Truth and the Life

Part 1

In John 14:1-6, Steve Gregg gives a very different interpretation on the mansions or dwelling places that many Christians believe await them in Heaven. Weigh the evidence and see what you think.

John 14:1-6

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions;[a] if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.[b]

[See NASB translation of this verse below].

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Footnotes:
  1. John 14:2 Literally dwellings
  2. John 14:2 NU-Text adds a word which would cause the text to read either if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? or if it were not so I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

Steve discusses the advantages of Jesus leaving earth and the Holy Spirit coming to dwell in his people.
